The Particle Oxidation Catalyst is a new oxidation catalyst concept designed and developed for heavy and light duty diesel engines to meet EURO-4 emission limits without trapping or filtering the particulates. The product consists of one or more Eco type metallic substrates coated with a precious metal containing washcoat. The swirling motion of the gas, enhanced heat and mass transfer and chemical reactions taking place inside the catalyst, result in a dramatic increase in the efficiency of particulate matter reduction.

This particulate matter reduction significantly exceeds its volatile organic content, with over 60% PM conversions being achieved. Beside the particulate mass reduction, the POC based exhaust emission after treatment system converts up to 90% of the carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons to water vapour and carbon dioxide. Regeneration and cleaning of the POC? is not required even if the converter is operating at low temperatures often typical for in-city driving conditions.

There is also no risk of the system overheating as carbon is not collected and stored inside the unit. Additional advantages, which the provides are: enhanced durability, simultaneous noise reduction and easy integration of the metallic substrates into the exhaust system.

POC? system can be installed to new vehicles to meet EURO-4 emission limits or to upgrade older fleet to fulfill current emission norm.
